Vince Gennaro
Vince is currently the Associate Dean and Clinical Associate Professor of the Tisch Institute for Global Sport in the NYU School of Professional Studies. He is also the host of a weekly radio show "Behind the Numbers: Baseball SABR Style" on SiriusXM radio. Since 2005 Vince has served as a consultant to professional sports teams and writer. He authored "Diamond Dollars: The Economics of Winning in Baseball" and is the architect of the Diamond Dollars Case Competition series, a forum that connects students with MLB team and league executives, to provide a unique learning experience. His innovative analysis of the business and economics of sports has been the subject of articles and commentary in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Forbes.com and CNNMoney. He appears regularly on MLB Network's studio shows, including "Clubhouse Confidential" and "MLB Now". He has also written for the Wall Street Journal, Yahoo! Sports and The Hardball Times and is a frequent guest commentator on sports issues throughout the media.
Vince is a member of the Advisory Board of The Perfect Game Foundation and The China-America Sports and Health Association Steering Committee. For the last 8 years he served as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR).
Vince previously led the Columbia University graduate sports management program. This follows a 20-year career at PepsiCo, where Vince was President of a billion dollar division and held various senior executive positions in brand marketing, sales, and general management. Prior to joining PepsiCo, Vince raised capital to purchase a franchise in the Women's Pro Basketball League, just 7 years after the passage of Title IX. He served as owner, President and General Manager of the St. Louis franchise. The WBL served as the forerunner to today's WNBA.
