Australian regulator disqualifies former PwC CEO over confidential tax information misuse scandal

Australia’s Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) has canceled the registration of Tom Seymour (former CEO of PwC Australia) as a tax agent and banned him from re-registering for four years, in connection with the scandal over leaks of confidential tax information.

The regulator determined that, in his leadership role, Seymour failed to properly manage conflicts of interest and did not prevent the use of government confidential information to structure client transactions. Both local and international media have confirmed the sanction and its scope.
