Cuatrecasas announced the launch of the fifth edition of Cuatrecasas Acelera, the accelerator programme they offer for legaltech startups and startups with high legal complexity and for which they are currently seeking six new startups. The selected startups will receive a “wallet” with 80 blockchain-based tokens that can be exchanged for legal advice.

Cuatrecasas is a leading law firm specializing in all areas of business law that is currently present in 14 countries, with a strong focus on Spain, Portugal and Latin America. 

Cuatrecasas Acelera has been the first startup accelerator programme in Europe promoted by a law firm, which aims to identify the best talent from among European projects with great potential, including both startups in the legaltech sector and startups with high legal complexity. The fifth edition of Cuatrecasas Acelera is focusing on blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies. 

For this year´s edition, a large part of the programme will be digitalized, using the most advanced technology to ensure the level of the selection and mentoring processes in digital format. Within the selection process, projects with innovative solutions for business law will be assessed. In order to participate, startups must have a minimum viable product, offer innovative solutions and have a solid team, as well was having been incorporated in the last five years. 

The projects selected by the accelerator programme will receive four months of legal, business and technological support, as well as access to clients and financing. They will be accompanied by a network of mentors and experts from different business areas during the course of the programme. They count on the collaboration of Netmentora, Microbank and Alastria.
