How to increase positivity in the office?
---
One of the negative effects caused by the pandemic has undoubtedly been a drastic reduction in direct contact between co-workers and with customers
The lack of human connection outside our homes has increased levels of anxiety and depression, weakening socialisation and interpersonal relationships between employees.
Numerous studies attest to the importance of direct socialisation for our mood. In fact, many scientists claim that human connections are as necessary for our brains as satisfying hunger.
It is vital to have conversations with other people. Unfortunately, the times force us to communicate, in the vast majority of cases, through social networks or instant messaging applications (WhatsApp, Telegram...).
These tools are useful when communicating with a large number of people, or with those who are in other cities or countries, but scientists advise communicating preferably by phone, as it is a conversation that brings more positivity.
Strong relationships are important both inside and outside the office. It is a sure source of positivity and, if it is a co-worker, it can guarantee help and solidarity.
Extra-work meetings can be very beneficial for the mind and morale of employees. On the other hand, doing other kinds of activities with co-workers also helps to increase the positivity of the group (be it sports, cultural activities, etc.).
There are multiple ways to increase positivity either individually or in groups. Firms are key players in ensuring proper morale for their employees, who spend a great deal of time in the office.
Positivity improves productivity, increases motivation and creates a healthy atmosphere within the office.
