Osborne Clarke advises foodservice business Compass Group on its acquisition of food technology start-up Feedr
As to a press release from the 10th of June, 2020, international legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised Compass Group UK and Ireland, part of the publicly listed Compass Group PLC, on its acquisition of Feedr.
Compass is known as a leading foodservice business that is specialising in providing food, as well as a range of support services across the core sectors of Business & Industry, Healthcare & Seniors, Education, Defence, Offshore & Remote and Sports & Leisure with a global reach of about 45 countries.
Feedr is a food technology start-up that has been established in 2016 and delivers personalised meals to office workers as an alternative to in-house canteens. They have a strong focus on nutrition and health, and their app is aiming to enable employees to track and personalise their daily eating, helping users to make healthier choices and gaining understanding of their nutrition.
Firstly, Compass plans to use the Feedr software across its portfolio of corporate clients, but there is also further potential for an application of the technology in the sectors of education and healthcare. Through Feedr´s mobile ordering and pre-pay technology, Compass will be able to transform the way in which people interact with on-site restaurants, making it possible for employees to browse menus, pay and collect in a more flexible way, and thus enhance their food at work experience.
Leaders of the Osborne Clarke team advising Compass were Partner Tom Try (Corporate) and Associate Josephine Healy (Corporate), who have been supported by Partner Michael Carter (Incentives) and Associate Director Dan Sharman (Incentives). Osborne Clarke is known for their market-leading international venture capital and M&A practice, and as a leading European law firm for companies operating in the technology, media and communication sectors.
