Pinsent Masons has announced a surprise round of promotions for 19 of its partners, increasing the number of such promotions by two compared to last year

 The majority of these promotions took place in the UK offices, with 13 partners entering this round. Partners in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Ireland and Hong Kong also received awards. 

In terms of legal specialisations, the partners promoted were from the energy, financial services, real estate, technology and infrastructure sectors.

"This year, more than any other, our people have experienced enormous disruption to their personal and professional lives," said Richard Foley, senior partner at Pinsent Masons. "Despite operating in difficult circumstances, our new partners have continued to apply Pinsent Masons' values, innovative thinking and solutions-based legal services to achieve the best results for our clients."

While the percentage of female partners decreased by 26% this past year, the overall number of women in this role increased during 2020.

Promotions in the UK include Jane Boyd, Jonathan Cavill, Katie Ivens and Andrew Robertson, Carl Scott, Jeremy Chang and Ronan Lambe, Stuart Davey and James Kaye and Arwyn Jones.

Outside the UK are Richard Feller, FeiFei Zheng, Oisin McLoughlin, Mohammed Talib and Faisal Attia.
