Woodsford reinforces in Singapore's legal market by hiring a dispute resolution expert
Woodsford Litigation Funding (Woodsford) expands into the Singapore market by bringing dispute expert Franca Ciambella as a consultant into the firm.
Ciambella's areas of expertise include technology law, fintech, corporate and commercial law. She has also had experience as a mediator in disputes related to blockchain and cryptocurrency platforms. Also, Ciambella has recognized experience as a lawyer in the Asian market.
“As Singapore, Hong Kong and other jurisdictions across Asia have liberalised their funding regimes, we have seen a significant and continuing increase in the number of requests for funding. Franca’s appointment is further evidence of our hopes and expectations for the region. We are delighted to have somebody of Franca’s immense experience and expertise on board.” said Charlie Morris, Woodsford’s Chief Investment Officer, EMEA & APAC.
Ciambella has also shown its enthusiasm for joining such a prestigious firm as Woodsford: “It’s fantastic to be joining an international funder of Woodsford’s calibre at this time. The market for the funding of arbitration, insolvency-related litigation and beyond continues to grow in Singapore and in Asia. I look forward to being a part of that and to the challenge of further developing Woodsford’s business in the region”.
Franca knows law and economics and is a member of the Quebec, Canada Bar and of the Singapore Law Society. In her career, Franca has spent 20 years in private international practice and 15 years as a mediator, being appointed to the United Nations WIPO panel of neutrals.
